Framing

When people show me their holliday memories, most of the time I see the main subject right in the right middle of the picture. To understand framing one has to divide the picture in tree horizontal parts and four vertical parts. The horizon is placed on the upper or lower horizontal lines both in landscape and portrait position of the camera. The main subject is placed on the outside vertical lines. And remember … do not let your subject look toward the short side of the picture. It looks silly.

This was taken during a reception. While performing an act a picture was taken with my camera. The subject ( I put my fingers in my ears) is right in the middle and on the bottom of the frame. The result is a very small subject in an empty picture .

By reframing in postprocess I decentralised the subject and removed most of the empty space. Putting the subject to the left allows a bit empty space on the right. It give an impression from where the noise is coming.
