Hello I’m Luc. Long time ago I set my first steps in photography with my father’s camera. I remember it was a Leica with a 50 mm f 1.2 optical glass. The camera had to be configured manually and so I learned with a litle lightmeter to understand light. Of course it was an analog camera with the classical filmrolls. I was fascinated while chemicals did their work an image appears on paper. Nothing was automatic, completely manual experiments must be followed to get the pictures on their best. I remember the smell of the chemicals and the red bulb in an “invented” darkish room.

Many years later I offered me an analog Canon AE1. Yeah, one of the first with a on board lightmeter. I used the camera until it broke a few years later. While using the popular single use cameras in a solid paper box, the evolution and technology in (at that time) modern reflex cameras passed by without my attention, until on a journey I met a proffessional photographer on Madeira. He worked with a Nikon D70s. He gave me back that feeling to handle a camera. Once back home I went to the store and bought me the Nikon D50.

After about 90.000 cliks later on the D50, my eyes could not see enough on that tiny little screen . This camera was replaced with in that time the extraordinary devellopped D300. It served me for about 80.000 clicks before I turned to a full framed camera. Nowadays I use two D800 body’s. They still own me a lot of pleasure and will serve me still a long time in the future.

Me, myself and my camera…
